A Blend Above is a leading provider of gourmet dip mixes, seasoning blends, and dessert mixes crafted from fresh, premium-quality ingredients. The brand delivers a curated online shopping experience designed to inspire creative cooking. Despite a strong product offering, the website faced several challenges — including an outdated design, low conversion rates, and a critical downtime event that disrupted operations. Beyond these, the brand had an untapped vision: enabling schools, NGOs, sports clubs, and community organisations to raise funds by selling A Blend Above products through their own virtual stores, with revenue split automatically between the store and the fundraiser. Techtic Technolab Pvt Ltd was engaged to deliver a comprehensive transformation — migrating the platform to Shopify, introducing this first-of-its-kind fundraising commerce system, and rebuilding the digital experience for performance, conversion, and scalable growth.

Problem
A Blend Above faced several compounding challenges ahead of this engagement. The existing platform lacked the design quality and UX maturity expected of a premium food brand, resulting in high bounce rates and a consistently low conversion rate against direct competitors. A critical downtime event exposed serious weaknesses in the hosting configuration and backup protocols, demanding urgent restoration without data loss. The WooCommerce platform also limited the marketing team’s independence — routine updates required developer involvement, slowing agility. Most significantly, the brand’s vision of a fundraising commerce model — where organisations could create virtual stores, select products, and raise funds through split payments — had no technical infrastructure to support it. Addressing all of these together required a complete platform rebuild, not an incremental fix.

Homepage Redesign and Development
The homepage was transformed with a modern, visually compelling layout to better reflect the brand’s premium identity. A clear navigation structure was introduced, surfacing product categories, promotions, and the new fundraising channel. Improved call-to-action buttons, engaging hero sections, and customer testimonials were added to guide users through the site and build trust from the first interaction. The design was built mobile-first, with multiple stakeholder-reviewed iterations to balance brand authenticity with modern UX standards.

Fundraising Commerce System
The centrepiece of the engagement. Any organisation — NGO, school, sports club, or community group — can create a fundraising campaign by providing their organisation details, type, sub-category, campaign dates, and goal amount. They then curate a selection of products from the main catalog to populate their own branded virtual fundraising store, listed in a dedicated Fundraising Channel on the website. When customers purchase from a fundraising store, a split payment automatically divides revenue between A Blend Above and the fundraiser’s campaign. Every transaction serves a dual purpose — driving product sales while enabling communities to raise funds for causes they care about. The entire system was built natively in Shopify using custom metafields, Liquid templating, and backend API logic.

Product Detail Page (PDP) Redesign
PDPs were revamped to deliver richer product information, larger imagery, and interactive elements including reviews and dynamic quantity selectors. Cross-selling features, strategically placed calls-to-action, and trust signals — quality guarantees, ingredient highlights, and satisfaction badges — were added to increase buyer confidence and drive conversion at the point of decision.

Slide Cart Integration
A slide cart was integrated to reduce checkout friction. Users can view, update, and proceed to checkout without leaving the current page — keeping shopping momentum alive and minimising drop-offs. The feature was optimised for mobile responsiveness and fast load times, and tested across devices to ensure full compatibility with both the main store and the fundraising storefronts.

Website Restoration and Security Hardening
Following the downtime event, the site was restored using the most recent verified backup, with thorough data integrity checks across all records. Post-restoration, hosting configurations were reconfigured, security settings strengthened, and proactive monitoring protocols put in place to prevent recurrence. The migration to Shopify’s enterprise-grade infrastructure provided an additional layer of resilience not possible on the previous WooCommerce setup.

Platform Migration and SEO
The full platform was migrated from WooCommerce to Shopify with zero data loss and no disruption to ongoing sales. Shopify’s flexible API ecosystem and marketer-friendly backend empowered the A Blend Above team to manage content, promotions, and fundraising campaigns independently. In parallel, a comprehensive SEO strategy — covering site architecture, page speed, metadata, and structured data — was executed as an integral part of the redesign, producing measurable organic growth from April 2025 onward.

Outcome
The revamped Shopify platform delivered a modern, on-brand commerce experience that strengthened A Blend Above’s market position. The fundraising commerce system introduced a new acquisition channel that is community-driven and emotionally engaging. Page-load performance improved, contributing to better mobile user engagement. Organic search traffic increased following the SEO-focused redesign, achieved without paid advertising. Conversion performance also improved, indicating stronger alignment between user intent and the overall experience. With a more resilient platform, a more capable marketing setup, and a scalable fundraising model in place, A Blend Above is positioned for continued growth and stronger community engagement.
