Do I need UCP if I am already on Shopify?

Being on Shopify gives you a head start – Shopify has built UCP infrastructure directly into the platform. But ‘Shopify-ready’ and ‘UCP-active’ aren’t the same thing. You still need to configure your merchant profile, activate Agentic Storefronts, and set up your checkout and payment handlers correctly. That’s exactly what Techtic does for you.

Will this change anything for my current customers?

No. UCP is an additive layer. Human shoppers see zero change to your storefront or checkout. The new capabilities only activate when an AI agent interacts with your store.

Which AI Agents will be able to buy from my store?

Any AI agent that supports UCP ,which today includes Google AI Mode (Search), Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and ChatGPT via Shopify’s Agentic Storefronts. As UCP adoption grows, new surfaces are added automatically. One implementation, every future agent.

How long does implementation take?
