Island Guide is a popular travel experience application for comprehensive and up-to-date city guide exploration for travel destinations in Jamaica Island. Techtic Solutions was hired to build this amazing app that would include every valuable information for travelers to Jamaica Island like find things to do, events, culture, activities, entertainment, food, travel & maps to also explore new places by finding their way.
Since our first discovery meeting with the client and the understanding of their vision, the team at Techtic Solutions was excited to create a travel application that could be a holistic guide and travel partner to the app users. And all these, while delivering an amazing user experience.
Island Guide to Hassle-free Travelling | Building a Holistic Experience App
Island Guide was another chance to unravel our extensive experience in mobile app development for the travel industry. So, once our team was told of the client’s vision about the app, and after exchanging ideas on the best features and functionalities, we collaborated with the customer over a design sprint. And in just a week’s time, our team was able to create an impressive prototype as to how the app should look and function.
Everyone in the team from the developers and the UI/UX designers came together to give their best for the Island Guide app. We wanted to keep the app design vibrant and give it more of a beach feeling that is soothing, yet appealing. The entire architecture was created keeping the traveler’s experience in mind and with the clear understanding that Island Guide app users should be able to find those destinations easily.
This module comprises of all the Categories for exploration in Jamaica Island such as events, activities, culture, etc.
Problem
The problem the customer came up with was critical, where it was told that in Jamaica, there are no platforms which offers experiences for travellers, or even people who live in Jamaica. This can potentially be a great venture to offer such experiences. However, the task was to deliver this in a mobile application.
Challenges
We first started with a design sprint, where we understood the requirement, and identified the business model and created a prototype on how the app should look and function. We wanted to keep it vibrant and make it look more of a beach feeling and something more soothing. We created an entire architecture, keeping the travellers in mind and knowing that they need to know a lot of details to go to a place and find those destinations easily by using the application.
Result
The final result was a fully functional, ready to go mobile application on both Android and iOS which can easily scale, was highly secure and had most engaging user experience. The app is way better than any other experience app in the market and offers a different kind of flair to experiences in Jamaica.
